The Joint Science and Technology Institute (JSTI) is an all-expense paid residential STEM program that offers participants the opportunity to participate in research projects mentored by Department of Defense research scientists.  The program offers exposure to scientific research through hands-on projects, enabling attendees to work with real-world scientists, and increase participants’ awareness of career opportunities in related fields.

For current high school students, JSTI offers a two-week, all expenses paid, residential program; for middle school students (JSTI-MS) a one-week all expenses paid residential program; and for current high school STEM teachers, the JSTI is a two-week, all expenses paid residential program.

JSTI will provide teachers with world–class laboratory research experiences with research scientists. Teachers will learn to integrate research experiences into their classroom, experience, the interdisciplinary nature of research, and increase their awareness of career opportunities in related fields.
