The Boston Children’s Museum has produced the Family Activities Workbook and STEM Teaching Kit to help parents understand the importance of STEM learning in their child’s out-of-school learning experiences. This workbook contains general STEM information for parents, and provides suggestions for encouraging children’s STEM curiosity through every day activities.

The workbook is also complete with hands-on activities to try at home. The activities for each learning objective can be modified to suit various ages (up to five years old) and learning styles.

The following are examples of projects you’ll find in the Family Activities Workbook to help your child explore STEM using their five senses:

  • Air and Wind
  • Bubbles
  • Magnets
  • Colors and Shapes
  • Building
  • Recycle Art
