The 2017 BioenergizeME Infographic Challenge is designed to engage 9th-12th grade high school teams to design an infographic that responds to one of five cross-curricular bioenergy topics to foster student-centered discovery. Student teams research, interpret, apply, and then design an infographic that responds to one of the five topics. The students’ infographics are submitted to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) for a chance to compete in a national social media campaign. Selected infographics are promoted on the Challenge website. The winning team is invited to travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the Bioenergy Technologies Office’s (BETO’s) annual conference.

The challenge is a great way for educators to incorporate bioenergy and renewable energy science and technology into their classroom curriculum in a fun and engaging way. The BioenergizeME Team has developed all the tools and resources that are needed to participate and succeed in the challenge. Feel free to check out the 2017 Challenge web page to view resources, as well as some recorded webinars.
