Next Generation Science Standards Professional Development

Join OSSE and Center for Inspired Teaching for “Translating the Next Generation Science Standards into Practice,” an intensive professional development course designed to help schools develop curriculum and instruction aligned to the vision of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This program was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, WestEd, and Biological Studies Curriculum Study.
This program is designed for middle and high school science instructional teams. School teams should consist of two or three participants, including some combination of instructional coaches, curriculum specialists, science department chairs, and educators. Participants will develop NGSS instructional units, receive course materials, and will be eligible for up to 32 OSSE Professional Learning Units (PLUs) and a small stipend. This course consists of four in-person sessions as well as online participation in forums and surveys.
All in-person sessions will be held at OSSE, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on the following dates:

Saturday, May 12, 2018 (inclement weather makeup day)
Participants are expected to attend all sessions. If interested in enrolling in this course, please complete the online application by Wednesday, March 21, at 5 p.m. Space is limited to 30 participants.
